Arts in Education Grants:
These grants provide funding for supplemental arts programming within the schools. Our current focus is on a project called GAINS (Gaston Art Integration Nurtures Success). In partnership with the Education Institute of the NC Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, Gaston County Schools and The Kennedy Center this program delivers sequential arts-integrated instruction (K-5) that meets the standards set by the NC Standard Course of Study. This project is currently in place at Ida Rankin and Sherwood elementary schools. Evaluative tools are in place and are confirming the scholastic benefit of integrating the arts.
